I remember very clearly this young lady’s audition. Upon entering, she was confident and had a wonderful audition. What amazed us the most, was how quickly she memorized her cold read. Yes, the cold read we handed out was given after she presented her song. We asked her to pretend that she was assembling something while reading her lines. Instead of having to keep her eyes on the page, she performed her cold read from memory. We knew there was something amazing about her memory, further explained when she told us that she has a Hyperthymesic memory.
Hyperthymesia is a person who possesses an extremely detailed autobiographical memory and remembers a vast number of their life experiences. If you ever forget any memories you might have had with Chasida, just give her a call and she will fill you in.
Chasida is a huge fan of Volleyball and Netball. What is Netball? Netball is a ball sport played by two teams of seven players and rooted from early versions of basketball, began in England in the 1890s and predominantly played in England and the Caribbean. She played against a British team in Barbados and won, 11-0. I am sure she remembers every detail of that event. In addition, I believe she is an avid swimmer as she is able to hold her breath for 3-minutes under water. Yes, it is possible as the current world’s record is 22 minutes and 22 seconds.
Her favorite movies are Central Intelligence, Big, and Titanic. Her all time favorite musical, The Hunchback of Notre Dame. It debuted at The Papermill Playhouse, but was not moved to Broadway. According to Playbill, as of April, a petition of 759 signatures was circulating to move it to Broadway. Why is this so important to Chasida? Because her dream role is Quasimodo.
Aside of a dream being on Broadway one day, she aspires a career as a Forensic Anthropologist, which is a special field of study in human remains applying skeletal analysis and techniques in archaeology to solve criminal cases. Okay, anyone remember Quincy?
We are so fortunate to have this young talent performing the role of HT in SUMMER ROCK a new musical. She is so much fun to watch on stage. We look forward to seeing her in action as HT. And now, enjoy a special message from Chasida Taylor.
